Presentation of AGBAR Company and the control centre
Ramon Creus introduces AGBAR Company, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area water network and the control centre. Later on, he shows “in situ” the way the company, from the control center deals with the water supply of Barcelona and its Metropolitan Area. |
On-going WIDE activities developed by AGBAR/UPC related to definition of the case study in simulation |
Vicenç Puig presents the on-going R+D activities developed altogether between UPC and AGBAR. In particular, on-going WIDE activities regarding the definition of the case studies in simulation were presented (aggregated and complete Barcelona water network models). Pdf is available into the private area of the website. |
Discussion of the real pilot case
Once the simulation case studies had been introduced, the discussion moved to the real pilot cases, either from wireless and distributed control perspective. |
1) From the wireless point of view
E-Senza presents to AGBAR the wireless equipment that can be used in the real pilot case. E-Senza also explains previous experiences in water treatment plants as related applications within the water domain. |
2) From the control point of view
Vladimir Havlena presents a document with the different and possible objectives that could be achieved in the WIDE demo case study. Then, it was discussed whether some real implementation for the control part would be possible. |
Planning of future activities
UPC and AGBAR activities: as shown in the PowerPoint presentation presented in point 2 of this agenda, currently the modelling and MPC studies in simulation with the aggregated model of the Barcelona water network are almost finished. Once completely finished they will be distributed to the rest of partners altogether with a Simulink model that is avaible to reproduce the network behaviour. As a future activities UPC and AGBAR will extend all these works to the complete network producing the complete model. UPC will propose to E-senza the exact place where they can test the wireless sensors and the connection with the control centre. Then, a complete model of the pumping station will be made avaible to those people working in wireless control to start thinking how to deal with that problem. Honeywell will interact with consortium members in order to prepare the algorithms for testing and particularly with UPC to interface the software environment that will be used for testing with PLIO as a virtual reality simulator using OPC communication standard. |
