The ABB Power Transmission Test Cases

This is the homepage for a series of test cases intended for test of control synthesis and analysis of hybrid systems. The test case illustrates voltage stability and the emergency control that may be necessary to avoid collapse and the subsequent blackout in the power system following severe  disturbances.

There are currently three test cases available (follow the links to go to the download pages):

• Small scale testcase
• Mini testcase
• Medium scale testcase 

The computer implementation of the test systems is available as Modelica code as well as SIMULINK SimStruc compiled under MatlabR12p5 (version 6.5).  Documentation of the Modelica source is available here .

More information about Modelica can be found at the Modelica Association homepage . Information about Dymola, which is currently the best tool available to develop and simulate models written in Modelica can be found at the Dynasim website.
