Daniele was born in Siena (Italy) in 1982. He received his M. Eng. degree in Computer Engineering in 2007 from the University of Siena. In February 2011 he earned his Ph.D. in Information Engineering (curriculum in Automation and Control) from the same University. In 2011 he was with the Dept. of Mechanical and Structural Engineering at the University of Trento, Italy. In October 2011 he joined the Dynamical Systems, Control and Optimization (DYSCO) research unit at IMT Lucca as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, also co-founding IMT's first spinoff company, ODYS Srl.

His main research interests are in model predictive control, stochastic control, networked control systems, hybrid systems, and their application to problems in energy, automotive, and aerospace domains. See his full curriculum vitae.
